What a CSSD Free Readiness Check actually tells you

A CSSD Free Readiness Check tells you two things: a readiness band (On Track, At Risk, or Not Ready) and the sports dietetics domain where you are weakest right now. It takes about 15 minutes, it is free, and it does not ask for a credit card.

That is the whole return. It is not an official Commission on Dietetic Registration score, and it is not a validated prediction that you will pass the Board Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics exam.

If you want the longer version of how this differs from a random quiz, use the CSSD sports dietetics practice page. This article answers the narrower question: what do you actually walk away with?

What the band is for

The band is a starting label, not a verdict.

On Track means your current evidence is not waving you off. At Risk means the map already has a problem worth treating as the next session. Not Ready means the unread or unstable part of the blueprint is still the main story.

None of those labels is a CDR result. They exist so you stop studying “the exam” as a single object and start studying a named gap.

What “weakest domain” is for

The weakest-domain name is the part most quizzes skip.

A 70 percent on a mixed set can hide a domain you never saw. The check is blueprint-mapped, so the output is a study priority: this is the domain to open next. The free plan then gives you 10 readiness questions a day so that priority can change as the evidence changes.

If you want every domain on the CSSD blueprint, including the ones you have not touched, that full remaining-gap map is Sprint. The free check is the door, not the whole house.

What the check will not tell you

  • It will not tell you that you are eligible. CDR decides that. Confirm current rules on CDR’s CSSD eligibility page.
  • It will not tell you the live exam’s passing score. CDR sets that with its own method.
  • It will not tell you a calendar date you should sit. Year-round testing and the one-year authorization window are board rules, not ours.
  • It will not replace the Sports Dietetics Content Outline. That file still lives with CDR.

If a product promises all four of those, it is selling a feeling.

How to use the result the same day

Open the weakest domain on CDR’s outline. Ask whether you could handle exam-style items from it accurately and quickly today. Then do the next hour there.

If the answer was correct in practice but slow, treat that as a hesitation gap. Mastery is accuracy + velocity. Fluency under pressure is part of readiness for this exam, not a bonus.

The CSSD sports dietetics study guide is the place to keep the official outline next to that measurement.

Common questions

Is the Free Readiness Check the same as a diagnostic?

No. The public name is Free Readiness Check. It is a short, blueprint-mapped starting measurement for CSSD sports dietetics. It is not an official CDR diagnostic and it is not a second product.

Do I need an account to see the result?

You can start the check without a credit card. The point of signing in is to keep the band and the weakest domain attached to the same progress, then continue with 10 readiness questions a day.

What happens if I already know my weak area?

Then the check is a second opinion against the blueprint, not a personality test. People are often right about the domain they dislike and wrong about the domain they have been avoiding.
